Refund Policy

Returns, exchanges and refunds at Laga Choshma, including power lens orders.

This Refund Policy is designed in compliance with the Consumer Rights Protection Act 2009 of Bangladesh and the Sale of Goods Act 1930. Laga Choshma is committed to ensuring fair treatment of all customers and upholding your rights as a consumer.

1. Return Eligibility

You may return a product purchased from Laga Choshma within 7 days of delivery if:

  • The product is unused, unworn, and in its original condition
  • All original packaging, case, cleaning cloth, and tags are intact
  • The product is free from scratches, damage, or signs of use
  • You have proof of purchase (order confirmation email, SMS, or receipt)

2. Non-Returnable Items

The following items cannot be returned or exchanged, as permitted under the Consumer Rights Protection Act 2009:

  • Prescription (power) lenses: Lenses made to your prescription cannot be returned or refunded once production starts, unless they are defective or do not match the prescription you gave us. See section 3.
  • Flash Sale items: Products purchased during flash sale promotions marked as “Final Sale”
  • Exclusive/Limited Edition: Numbered limited-edition frames (unless defective)
  • Gift cards and promotional vouchers
  • Products that have been altered, repaired by a third party, or show signs of misuse

Important: If you receive a defective product, wrong item, or a product damaged during delivery — these are always eligible for return, exchange, or refund regardless of the above exclusions. This is your right under the Consumer Rights Protection Act 2009.

3. Prescription (Power) Lens Orders

Power lenses are made to order using the prescription you provide, either typed at checkout or sent to us as a photo. Because every pair is made specifically for you:

  • No change of mind: once lens production has started, power lens orders cannot be cancelled, returned or refunded.
  • Our mistake, our cost: if your lenses do not match the prescription you gave us, or arrive defective or damaged, we will remake them free of charge.
  • Check your prescription: we make lenses exactly as provided. Errors in the prescription values you give us are not covered, so if you are unsure, send us a photo of your prescription and we will check it with you before we start.
  • Frame size: power lens orders cannot be exchanged for a different frame size, because the lenses are cut to fit that frame. Please use the Size guide on the product page, or ask us on WhatsApp before ordering.
  • Frame defects: if the frame itself is defective, it is covered under this policy like any other product.

Frame-only orders (without power lenses) follow the standard 7-day return and exchange terms above.

4. How to Initiate a Return

1. Contact Us

Reach out via WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, email (returns@lagachoshma.com), or phone within 7 days of receiving your order. Provide your order number and reason for return.

2. Return Approval

Our team will review your request and approve the return within 24 hours. You will receive a return authorization and instructions.

3. Ship the Product Back

Pack the product securely with all original packaging. For Dhaka customers, we can arrange a free pickup. For outside Dhaka, you may use any reputable courier — return shipping costs are borne by the customer unless the return is due to our error.

4. Inspection & Refund

Once we receive and inspect the returned product (1–2 business days), we will process your refund or exchange.

5. Refund Methods

Refunds will be processed through the original payment method:

  • bKash/Nagad payments: Refunded to your bKash or Nagad account within 3–5 business days
  • Bank transfer payments: Refunded to your bank account within 5–7 business days
  • Cash on Delivery (COD) orders: Refunded via bKash, Nagad, or bank transfer (you will need to provide your mobile financial service or bank account details)

Delivery charges are non-refundable unless the return is due to a defective product, wrong item, or our error.

6. Exchanges

We offer free exchanges for:

  • Different frame color (same model)
  • Different size (if available)
  • Different model of equal or higher value (you pay the difference for higher-value items)

Exchanges are subject to stock availability. If the desired replacement is unavailable, you may choose a full refund instead. Exchange deliveries within Dhaka are free; outside Dhaka, standard delivery charges apply.

7. Defective Products & Warranty Claims

If you receive a product that is defective, damaged during shipping, or does not match what you ordered:

  • Contact us within 48 hours of delivery with photos/video of the issue
  • We will arrange a free pickup and replacement or full refund — no questions asked
  • All Laga Choshma frames carry a 6-month warranty against manufacturing defects (hinges, frame breakage under normal use, lens coating peeling)
  • Exclusive collection frames carry an extended 1-year warranty

Warranty does not cover damage from misuse, accidental breakage, exposure to extreme conditions, or unauthorized modifications. Under the Consumer Rights Protection Act 2009, you are entitled to remedies including repair, replacement, or refund for defective goods.

8. Late or Missing Refunds

If you haven’t received your refund within the stated timeframe:

  • Check your bKash/Nagad transaction history or bank statement
  • Contact your mobile financial service provider or bank, as processing times may vary
  • If the refund is still missing after 10 business days, contact us at lagachoshma@gmail.com and we will investigate immediately

9. Cancellations

You may cancel an order at any time before dispatch for a full refund. Orders that have already been dispatched cannot be cancelled — please wait for delivery and follow the return process above. COD orders that are refused at delivery without prior cancellation may incur a ৳100 handling fee to cover courier costs.

10. Consumer Rights

As a consumer in Bangladesh, you are protected under the Consumer Rights Protection Act 2009 (ভোক্তা অধিকার সংরক্ষণ আইন ২০০৯). If you believe your consumer rights have been violated, you may:

  • File a complaint with the Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection (DNCRP) — জাতীয় ভোক্তা অধিকার সংরক্ষণ অধিদপ্তর
  • Contact the DNCRP hotline: 16121
